Caleb P. Peck, Psy.D., ABPP-CN, Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Caleb P. Peck is a board certified in clinical neuropsychology and the Executive Director of Clarus Health Alliance. He was previously at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital where he worked in the Memory Disorders Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. In addition to clinical work, Dr. Peck was Director of the APPCN Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology. Dr. Peck completed his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College in Illinois. He completed his predoctoral internship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida Health Science Center.
 

Dr. Peck works predominantly with adult and geriatric patients. He is also an expert in the forensic application of neuropsychological assessment. He has presented at national and international conferences and has published on topics of workers compensation, malingering, symptom validity, and conversion disorders. Dr. Peck is a community affiliate staff member at Hartford Hospital, the Institute of Living, and Lawrence+Memorial Hospital. He holds an academic appointment of Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Jill Dorflinger, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Jill Dorflinger is the Associate Director at Clarus Health Alliance and a board-certified pediatric neuropsychologist specializing in the neuropsychological assessment of children ages 6 months through 18 years who are presenting with a variety of educational, developmental, neurological and psychiatric issues. Dr. Dorflinger completed a Ph.D. at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. Her predoctoral internship was at the West Virginia University College of Medicine in Morgantown, WV, and her speciality postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology was at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Prior to joining Clarus Health Alliance, Dr. Dorflinger was the Director of Neuropsychology Training and a pediatric neuropsychologist at the Amita Health Neurosciences Institute, Center for Pediatric Brain in the Chicagoland area.


Dr. Dorflinger regularly presents research at national and international conferences. She is widely published in a variety of journals, including the Journal of Pediatric Neuropsychology, Neuroimage, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, and the Journal of Neuroendocrinology. Dr. Dorflinger holds an academic appointment at Yale University in the School of Nursing where she is involved in training and mentorship.

Alyssa Nett, Psy.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Alyssa Nett (she/her) is the Associate Training Director at Clarus Health Alliance and a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment of children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a wide variety of neurological, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric conditions. Dr. Nett earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford and completed several clinical placements and research activities across the New England area. She completed her predoctoral internship at Clifford Beers Community Care Center (Developmental Disabilities Track) in New Haven, CT and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Clarus Health Alliance. Her research and clinical interests center on neurocognitive developmental trajectories in children with medical illness and social determinants of cognitive health. Dr. Nett is passionate about improving the accessibility of neuropsychological services in under-resourced communities, as well as supporting neuropsychology training initiatives. As our Associate Training Director, Dr. Nett provides mentorship to incoming postdoctoral fellows, graduate practicum students, and undergraduate students on clinical cases, research projects, and professional development. She is active in professional advocacy at the state and national level. Dr. Nett currently serves as the Student Liaison for the Connecticut Psychological Association (CPA) Neuropsychology Division. She completed the Leadership Ambassador Development Program (LEAD) through the National Academy of Neuropsychology and previously served as the Vice Chair for the student committee of the American Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology (AAPdN). Outside of work, Dr. Nett enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog, oil painting, and getting lost in a good book.

Warren J. Avery, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Warren J. Avery is a Connecticut licensed clinical psychologist experienced in the focused delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) augmented by a wide range of therapeutic interventions including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with adult populations. Dr. Avery provides treatment for a wide range of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, the management of addiction, and recovery from trauma (PTSD). Other areas of expertise include interventions for life adjustments, life coaching, and management of learning disabilities and/or behavioral conditions such as ADHD. Dr. Avery takes an inclusive approach to psychotherapy. His focus on building a foundation of human connection leads to a deeper understanding of concerns. This base provides the launch point for the acquisition of new skills that lead to greater relational stability and improved quality of life.

 

Dr. Avery earned his doctoral degree at Antioch University – New England. He completed advanced training through Gallaudet University, Marymount University, and The New School for Social Research. Past research projects include work on the impact of stigma, veteran combat trauma, early childhood trauma, and factors that enhance the delivery of therapy through institutions including University of Connecticut, Walter Reed Army Institute for Research (WRAIR), Johns Hopkins Medical Center, National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), and Beth Israel Medical Center.

Hannah R. Bogoian, Ph.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Hannah Bogoian (she/her) is an adult neuropsychologist with additional expertise in aging and older adult care. She has special interests in promoting healthy aging, diagnosis of dementia, and providing resources to support individuals with dementia and those involved in their care. Dr. Bogoian completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, and is currently licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of Connecticut. Her predoctoral internship training was conducted at the Minneapolis Veteran’s Affairs Health Care System in Minneapolis, MN, including rotations in neuropsychological assessment of Veterans with traumatic brain injury and psychotherapy training within an older adult mental health clinic. Her 2-year neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship was completed at the Veteran’s Affairs Connecticut Health Care System (West Haven campus), including evaluation of Veterans with a variety of neurocognitive disorders/dementias, stroke, movement disorders, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and complex psychiatric disorders. 

Research interests include racial health disparities in dementia detection and care, late life depression, and the role of exercise and social activity in healthy brain aging. In addition to conducting neuropsychological assessments, Dr. Bogoian conducts individual therapy for adults aged 60+. She is passionate about providing equitable and culturally sensitive aging care to promote healthy brain aging across the lifespan.

Erica Deshpande, Psy.D., Pediatric Neuropsychologist

Dr. Erica Deshpande is a pediatric neuropsychologist with experience working with children and adolescents of all ages. Dr. Deshpande earned a master’s degree in human development and psychology at Harvard University and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at William James College. She completed a dual predoctoral internship in pediatric psychology at the Dr. Leon O. Brenner Center for Psychological Assessment and Youth and Family Psychotherapy Services. Dr. Deshpande then graduated from a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Developmental Medicine Center at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she became appointed as an attending psychologist and instructor of psychology at Harvard Medical School before joining the Clarus Health Alliance team.

Trudy Friedberg, M.A., Licensed Professional Counselor

Trudy Friedberg (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in Child Therapy, working with ages 2 to 12. She has worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, group practice, public schools, adjunct faculty, and owned and directed a preschool. Trudy has three Masters Degrees in Child Development, Child Welfare, and Counseling. All of which have given her varying perspectives to help children and their families. In her practice, she uses eclectic play therapy techniques honed from years of experience in early childhood development. Children’s social and emotional growth is facilitated through play, developmentally, appropriate activities, discussion, and family consultation. She is familiar with community resources to help families connect to services that meet their unique needs. Trudy is able to help parents navigate the 504 and PPT processes and protocols through her years of public school employment. In addition to treating childhood anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other difficulties, she has had extra training in child sexual abuse, cultural competency, and foster and adoption issues.

Alana Gallagher, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist 

Dr. Alana Gallagher (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist providing individual psychotherapy. She supports adults coping with generalized anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Dr. Gallagher primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy (an evidence-based, skills-focused, and collaborative therapy approach) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. Dr. Gallagher completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University in 2024. She completed her predoctoral internship at VA Salt Lake City Health Care System and postdoctoral fellowship at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.

Anders Hogstrom, Ph.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist 

Dr. Anders Hogstrom is a clinical neuropsychologist who provider services to individuals across the lifespan.  Dr. Hogstrom earned his doctorate at the University of Connecticut, where he researched the impact of sensory processing differences on language learning in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Hogstrom completed a predoctoral internship through the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, as well as a two-year clinical neuropsychology fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hogstrom also provides training and mentorship for graduate students in clinical neuropsychology.

Maria Masotta, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Masotta is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of individuals with a wide range of psychological conditions. She utilizes an integrative approach of evidence-based interventions including cognitive-behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy informed interventions, solution focused therapy and motivational interviewing.  

 

Prior to joining Clarus Health Alliance, Dr. Masotta served in an impressive range of expert roles, including as consultant expert in mental health to the Attorney General of Colorado. She also served as plaintiffs' expert in the state of Illinois where she reviewed mental health care for incarcerated individuals. Since 2014, Dr. Masotta has served as a court appointed expert in the California prison system. Other positions include consulting for the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department, consultant as a forensic psychologist for the Worcester District Court Clinic in Massachusetts. 

 

Dr. Masotta graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2002 with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at UMass Medical School in Worcester, MA. She is published in areas of assessment and has an extensive history of professional presentations on topics of trauma, prison mental health, suicide prevention in correctional settings, and mindfulness techniques.

Amy J. Masse, Psy.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Amy Masse is a lifespan neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment of individuals aged 12 and older. Her background is in behavioral neurology and neuroscience research, and she is published in a variety of journals, including Neuroscience. Dr. Masse earned her Psy.D. at the University of Hartford and then completed a predoctoral internship in pediatric psychology at the Institute of Living/CCMC, where she remained and graduated from the 2-year clinical neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship (IOL/Hartford Hospital). In addition to her work at Clarus, Dr. Masse provides consulting work in the Trauma, Medicine, and Comprehensive Stroke Units at Hartford Hospital. She also mentors graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in clinical neuropsychology and holds an academic appointment of Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Lyssa Micheel, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Lyssa Micheel is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the psychological treatment of adolescents and young adults. Dr. Micheel earned her Psy.D. at the University of Hartford Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology and then completed a predoctoral internship in child/adolescent psychology at the Institute of Living/Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, where she remained and also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Living Grace Webb School. Her previous research has included topics of racial differences in diagnosis, as well as microaggressions in media. Dr. Micheel emphasizes the importance of diversity and is dedicated to fostering an environment of inclusivity for LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC communities. 

Dr. Micheel provides individual therapy for clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, identity development, and relationship issues. Her approach to therapy primarily draws from humanistic and attachment theories and incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioral and interpersonal theories as well. She emphasizes treatment and understanding of the whole person and strives to help people fulfill their potential and maximize their well-being. She aims to meet clients where they are and tailors treatment based on the unique identities, needs, and goals of each individual. Dr. Micheel helps clients to manage their current symptoms while exploring underlying problems and past experiences that may contribute to their current functioning and how they interact with the world around them.

Shelby Ming, Psy.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Shelby Ming (she/her) is a clinical neuropsychologist who works with adults and older adults. Dr. Ming earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Hartford. She completed her predoctoral internship in Columbia, Missouri at the Missouri Health Sciences Psychology Consortium. She then completed her two-year clinical neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship in Grand Rapids, Michigan within the Corewell Health hospital system. She has experience across a range of settings including VA, inpatient and rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Her clinical interests include dementia and acquired brain injuries.

Cayla Mitzkovitz, Ph.D., Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Cayla Mitzkovitz (she/her) is a clinical neuropsychologist who provides services to adults and older adults. Dr. Mitzkovitz earned her doctorate at Central Michigan University. Dr. Mitzkovitz completed a predoctoral internship through the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She then completed a two-year clinical neuropsychology fellowship at the VA Bedford Healthcare System in Massachusetts with rotations through Boston University’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center/Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jasmen Rice, Psy.D., ABPP, Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Jasmen Rice (she/her) is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist, specializing in the neuropsychological assessment of older adults with thinking and memory problems, usually causing concern for Alzheimer’s disease or other causes of dementia. She also has experience
conducting neuropsychological evaluations of adult patients with movement disorders, psychiatric conditions, as well as other medical concerns, such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other vascular and metabolic syndromes. 

 

Dr. Rice earned both her masters and doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and completed her predoctoral internship at Northwell Health – Staten Island University Hospital. She completed her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Dr. Rice has published works on interventions for dementia caregivers, delirium, and flashbulb memories. She has presented scholarly work at several national and international conferences, served as a consultant and guest speaker for support groups, and has led mental health workshops. Dr. Rice is interested in, and dedicated to, eliminating the racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare.

Nicholas Sitro, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Nicholas Sitro (he/him/his) is a Connecticut licensed counseling psychologist specializing in the treatment of adults and older adults presenting with a wide range of psychological conditions including anxiety disorders, substance use, and depression. Dr. Sitro completed his doctorate in counseling psychology at Springfield College. His subsequently completed a predoctoral internship at Clemson University in South Carolina and a postdoctoral fellowship at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. Dr. Sitro has also worked extensively with college-age clients at a number of area universities, including the University of Connecticut and University of Hartford. Additionally, Dr Sitro has provided treatment for combat veterans transitioning back to civilian life while serving at the Springfield Veterans Center. Dr. Sitro’s research interests include investigating the impact personal therapy has on clinicians who are providing counseling services. 

In his clinical work, Dr. Sitro utilizes integrative and evidence-based treatments to foster therapeutic change. These often include elements of exposure therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The foundation of successful treatment starts with a positive relationship between the psychologist and client. As such, Dr. Sitro will holistically work with each client to meet individual needs and goals, seeking to transform each individual into the best version of themselves. This approach empowers clients to take on the challenges of the world with confidence and determination.

Ralph Sperry, Ph.D., ABPP

Dr. Ralph Sperry is a board certified clinical psychologist providing services for adolescent clients and couple's counseling/marital therapy.
